Our Middle School Play Festival, which took place this week, gives an opportunity for Third and Fourth Formers to get stuck in to dramatic performance and build their co-operation skills across their brother-sister house combinations.
Our students develop their creativity in a highly personalised and individual way.
Self-expression helps young adults to explore and understand the world around them, gain confidence and think creatively. We provide the opportunity, expertise and encouragement for all from the enthusiastic amateurs to those considering a future career, to be brave, bold and creative.
Our Drama Department is of an exceptional standard, often performing spectacular plays and musicals deemed too challenging for schools. Each year we stage full-length plays as well as a number of shorter pieces, including House plays. For those who prefer working behind the scenes, they can write, direct or produce, design the set or costumes or engineer the sound and lights.
Our stunning light-filled Salvesen Art School was purpose-built to house double-height studios, a specialist library, ceramics room and permanent gallery space. It is a hub of creativity and exploration. Our experienced staff have a range of expertise including an Artist-in-Residence who works alongside senior students to give insight into professional art practice. Students regularly exhibit their creative work throughout the year, allowing other students, parents and staff to enjoy and reflect on their artwork as it develops.
