Sport
Our aim in the Prep School is to balance ‘sport for all’ with our ethos of sporting excellence.
We encourage all of our pupils to work towards a shared goal and to learn equally from wins and losses. We actively encourage maximum participation and every child wins a place on a Fettes school team so that they can look forward to competitive games against other schools.
On-site, we have a wealth of sporting facilities, including: a water-based astro (so good that Scottish Hockey use it for training); cricket nets; beautifully maintained pitches; a swimming pool; and a climbing wall. Sport isn’t the only way to keep our children fit and healthy: we also have outdoor breaks in fully equipped playgrounds so that whether they like playing on the monkey bars or fun games on their very own astro, their break times are active too.

This has been a super week of sport with our Under 12 girls hockey team taking part in the IAPS hockey finals and Under 13 representation for the Saltires in both rugby and hockey. We have hosted visiting rugby teams from Aysgarth Prep School and taken part in our regular Wednesday fixtures.
There is always fierce competition to get into an Independent Prep Schools Association competition final and we were delighted when our under 12 hockey team qualified to make the trip to Rugby School for this year's finals.
