The academic offering at Fettes Prep is unique, combining as it does the rigour of knowledge acquisition with the development of the skills children will need in a fast-changing world. Our superb teachers are re-imagining their teaching so that the same knowledge is gained via a route that encourages the skills of critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, resilience and empathy. This makes lessons more interesting and benefits learners from all parts of the ability spectrum. Our curriculum is broad and diverse, providing ample opportunities for each child to find something they can find a passion for, and we have made full use of our independence in designing an offering that is uniquely useful to the young people in our care.

Here our pupils enjoy puzzling out some maths rules, evaluating evidence and drawing conclusions whilst being assessed on their collaboration. This embeds the skills into their learning and makes it huge fun.
