The Prep pupils have been enjoying a mix of sports during their games sessions and although the weather may have taken a turn for the worse, everyone has made the most of being outside and improving their skills.

We were very excited to take twenty-two of our pupils to the John Muir Country Park on Sunday for the first competitive sports event we have had in over a year! The cross country competition was smaller than usual due to Covid restrictions however it was a great chance for some of our runners to get out and compete for the school.

The Under 9 girls were up first. Despite nerves on the start line, the girls held their own and after 8 minutes 30 seconds in came Lottie (1st) closely followed by Bella (3rd) and Gracie (4th), resulting in a team event win.

The Under 9 boys were off next with a strong start in a fast-paced race. Rory led the team in 7th place followed quickly by Leo (8th), Simon (11th) and Harry (18th). These combined finishing places led to the boys to 2nd place in the team event.

The 11’s events were very competitive Lucy (11th) Kitty and Sasha all gave competitive performances and Charlie (5th), Hugo M (11th), Finnian and George worked very well as a team.

The Under 13 boys and girls had a long wait until their races began and there was high tension on the start lines. First in view was Dashka, who broke her own record by 30 seconds, finishing in just over 12 minutes. She was followed by Izzy (3rd), Marianna (5th) and Millie (12th). All were delighted with their first place in the team event.

The boys put in an extremely impressive performance with Lochie (3rd), George (8th) Seth (9th) and Jonty (14th) to take second place in the team event.

Each one of our competitors deserves a massive congratulations for showing such determination on the day, but also for representing Fettes Prep so very well, they were true ambassadors for our school!
