Arran and Iona Houses enjoyed another fun packed weekend!

On Sunday the Iona girls enjoyed a lazy breakfast then jumped on the bus and headed to Extreme Go Karting. When they got there, they had a temperate check, safety briefing and then clambered into safety gear and donned helmets for a fast and furious few lap of the track. Everyone loved racing around and with seven minutes each race, they had plenty of time to improve their karting skills. The winners were announced at the end; congratulations to Amy who took first place, Alice second and Orla Rose third.

Once all the gear was handed back in they headed to McDonald's for a tasty treat.

Meanwhile, the boys of Arran House enjoyed a varied programme of games, fitness, baking, birthdays, films and Arts and Crafts. Their Sunday activity was a fantastic bubble game session.

Arran House are avidly following the 2020 Vendee Globe and specifically Alex Thomson, one of 33 skippers. Alex is competing for Britain alongside three British women competitors, Sam Davies, Pip Hare and Miranda Merron. The race, known as the “Everest of the seas” is a solo, non-stop round the world epic. The weekend was an exciting one which saw Alex extend his lead out at the front of the race. Sam is in 11th place, Pip in 21st and Miranda 28th.

Once we had handed in all out gear, we headed to Macdonald for a tasty treat.
