Our extremely enthusiastic and resilient young musicians worked incredibly hard to rehearse their pieces for the end of term so we were very pleased to be performing these pieces, with mitigations in place, at our traditional Autumn Concert. Because we didn't have an audience, we decided to share our music making via a specially commissioned film!

The Jordan Singers performed the poignant and powerful song ‘Save Our Planet’, inspired by our assemblies this term which were linked to the themes arising around COP26. The Flute Group played two pieces with some especially warm tone and tight ensemble playing. Our soloists played with real aplomb and professionalism; it was astonishing to hear such polished playing from such young pupils!

Our Orchestra players excelled themselves with a spirited and energetic performance of ‘National Express’ and the Jazz Band really took the Recital Room by storm with a rousing account of ‘Tequila’ with some wonderfully soulful improvised solos on sax, flute and trumpet.

The ‘pièce de résistance’ had to be the Gallery Choir’s performance of ‘Hamilton Highlights’; our singers gave total commitment and bags of character to bring this wonderful arrangement to life in technicolour.

We are so very proud of our young musicians who have kept our music vibrant and alive with their commitment, talent and energy.

The Concert Film will be released very soon.
