Latest news...

October and November have been busy months for the Prep School, with plenty more fun to come!

We have enjoyed learning inside and outside the classroom. Highlights have included COP26 activities and discussions, World Book Day, Black History Month, 2nd Form Geography Field Trips, P Forms’ storyteller visit, and the M Form outing to Gladstone’s Land.

Our informal Form Concerts have started up again and it’s been a delight to listen to musicians playing such a range of instruments with great style, from those who are just starting out to the pupils showcasing their experience.

Art lessons are in full swing and a beautiful indoor poppy display of paintings and sculptural poppies appeared in time for Remembrance Day, together with a large stone poppy collaboration, with each of the pupils including a name or thought on their stone for those whose lives have been lost in conflict.

M and P Forms have been learning lines for their play whilst 2nd Form have been using their activity time to learn how to apply stage makeup; skills they will be putting to good use for next month's play.

The boarders have been busy too. They went trick-or-treating, dressing up in spooky outfits and visiting the Senior School Houses. They headed to Murrayfield to watch a Scotland win against Australia, put on their wellies and walked to Bigside for their very own firework display, played wide games on campus and went to get some fresh air in Inverleith Park.

We’ve had a number of hockey and rugby fixtures against local opposition and welcomed a visiting team from Mowden Hall School. We are looking forward to hosting the IAPS Scottish Schools Representative Rugby and Hockey Tournaments today.

We have plenty more to keep us busy during the last few weeks of term!
