U15 Boys Scottish Hockey Cup Final

This year the U15 Boys were in a repeat of the final from last year, where they were the runners up against Strathallan. This year our Fettesians were eager to show off new skills, determination and team spirit.

They got off to an excellent start with Ramsay M scoring in the first five minutes, following a brilliant passage of play with Fraser M at the back. Ramsay then went on to score a hattrick and Xavax C, who was outstanding throughout the game, scored two brilliant outfield goals.

Captain Matthew H led the team from the front scoring two drag flicks and Marcus P scored a fantastic reverse stick goal, following a brilliant solo run from inside his own half. It the end it was Finn B who finished off the scoring to help Fettes lift the Scottish Cup for the very first time!

Congratulations to our U15 Boys for their incredible win and thank you to Strathallan for an amazing final!

“One of the finest Fettes performances I have ever seen!” Mrs Mill, Head of Hockey and Girls’ Games

U15 Girls Scottish Hockey Bowl Final

Our U15 girls were in the final of the Bowl, having won against Loretto in a very closely contested semi-final a week earlier.

They played Edinburgh Academy in the final and as we were playing out of season, it was always going to be a challenging game. The work rate and effort from the girls was outstanding during the match and they were unlucky to go into half-time one goal down. They kept fighting throughout and displayed some excellent teamwork and skill.

Special mentions should be made to Marissa M, Maria M and Orla L, as well as Pippa K, who was excellent in goals and made a number of crucial saves.

Congratulations to Edinburgh Academy for their win and massive applause to our U15 Girls for achieving second place in the Scottish Bowl!

“It is a brilliant achievement and we are very proud of the girls” Mrs Mill, Head of Hockey and Girls’ Games
