It’s not easy completing outdoor geography fieldwork during a global pandemic.
Our 5th Form Geographers have been working valiantly to master the practical skills for rivers coursework in the classroom (as Covid restrictions have unfortunately prevented us from undertaking our fieldwork data collection outdoors).
It’s not quite the same without the wellies, clipboards and sunshine but we had fun nonetheless! Using last year’s data we have been able to crunch the numbers with graphs and statistical analysis and the photos and map extracts are helping us to interpret the data too.
Huge thanks to Miss Vardy’s husband for the amazing drone footage he recorded in the summer which has really helped the project come alive. It’s not been easy but the pupils have been both open-minded and determined so we are making good progress. Fingers crossed we’ll be back in the field again soon.
