It was a momentous day on Monday 5th October 2020 as we celebrated 150 years of Fettes College. Although plans were curtailed somewhat given the current COVID 19 restrictions, we wanted to ensure that every member of the Fettes community could celebrate in style. As well as the beautifully curated Fettes: Our Place commemorative book full of archival treasures and an emotive film featuring historic footage and voices of Old Fettesians, Fettes College itself wanted to celebrate, remember and reminisce.

All the key highlights of the day such as the rooftop piper, address from the Head to the prefects and Heads of Houses, laying a wreath to remember all Old Fettesians who are no longer with us, commemorative Chapel service and of course the cutting of the cake culminated in an atmosphere of reflection and pride. From the youngest pupil in Prep to the oldest in College, cupcakes arrived for all and a commemorative badge was handed out to all those pupils and staff at Fettes in the 150th year. A re-enactment of a beloved first day photo took place and exactly as had happened 150 years prior, the Prep School took part in a celebratory cricket match.

Enjoy these highlights of an incredibly special birthday.
