As numbers permitted in Chapel are reduced, the service was repeated meaning the Middle School and then the Sixth Form could join this contemplative service. Although singing was not permitted, our Chaplain created an atmosphere of calm reflection reminding the students of the true meaning of Christmas.
The atmospheric organ music was rousing and uplifting and included Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland BWV 659 by JS Bach as well as an organ improvisation on O come, O come, Emmanuel. 400 candles lit up the Chapel, which has become a wonderful tradition. The chapel was beautifully decorated by a team of volunteers from the Marketing department who enhance Chapel as a gift to the students each year. It creates such an incredible backdrop to the messages of Advent.
