More about the role...

The Economics Department is thriving at Fettes, with very high uptake across the school. Currently made up of three teachers, the Department is a very friendly and close-knit team who share a passion for Economics. The popularity of Economics in recent years has led to the creation of an additional post for a fourth Teacher of Economics starting in September 2022.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who enthuses and inspires those whom they teach. We are looking for candidates of intellect, passion, and imagination. We want our students to become life-long learners, and we therefore expect our teachers to be role models in this regard. In addition to work in the classroom, participation in the co-curricular life of the Department is essential: we want the academic life of our students to be rich, varied, and outward-looking. This will therefore include extension programmes such as pre-university seminars, competitions and trips.
