World Book Day was the highlight of a week of fun reading activities and events. Yesterday, we all came into school as a favourite book character and started the day dressing our classroom doors so that they looked like book covers! This activity was followed by assembly where amongst other sights, we were all very surprised to find head boy, Rory, dressed as a rather large dinosaur. The Prep Staff had put together some great outfits too and we particularly enjoyed seeing our Graduate Assistants dressed as the three blind mice!
After a delicious book food themed lunch, we took part in the College Book Spines display outside the Dining Hall and our afternoon activity consisted of a codebreaking challenge posed by the pupils of 2Q. Each class had to crack a different style of code and the first pupil in the tutor group that deciphered it was able to select a book prize. Some of the codes were fiendishly tricky but we all got there in the end and had lots of fun in the process!
