To mark the 6th anniversary of his daddy’s death, Rory decided that he wanted to raise money for charity. Child Bereavement UK have helped him and his family since the first day of their loss.
Rory said: “I enjoy running and CBUK have helped me, my younger brother and my Mummy, so their ‘Jog On January’ challenge was an easy choice”
Child Bereavement UK's vision is to provide families with the support they need to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. They also supply training to professionals to equip them to give the best possible care to bereaved families. Their Jog on January campaign is a challenge to walk, run or step 26.2 miles in the month of January, which will raise vital awareness and funds for all the invaluable support given by by CBUK.
Rory has relished the challenge of running 26.2 miles in January. He experienced running in snow and ice and has found plenty of new routes to run. The last mile of Rory's challenge was completed with a very special guest, Scottish Rugby 7's player, Ross McCann, which was a lovely surprise for Rory. Altogether, Rory has totted up 27.24 miles and at the close of his campaign he has raised the incredible total of £19,123.72.
