Prep Singing Competition Final

On Monday night we hosted the final of our Singing Competition. A buzz of excitement spread around the Assembly Hall as everyone took their seats; it was so encouraging to welcome such a large and appreciative audience to this event after such a long pause on live music making. Our adjudicator for the evening was Mr Angus Tully, who will be our new Director of Music at the Senior School from September.

There were a few nerves from our young performers, but these were quickly overcome as each singer took to the stage with confidence and a lovely sense of engagement with the audience. Mr Tully was hugely impressed with the quality of the performances and every finalist was awarded a medal. In the intermediate Category, Monty and Izzy were Highly Commended and Hugo M-L was the winner. In the Senior Category Kitty was Highly Commended and Grace the winner.

Next came the much anticipated Cracked Cup award with two entries from some of our 2nd  Formers. Both groups were highly entertaining with full costumes donned for the occasion; Ingrid and Charlotte pipped the boys to the post with their ABBA mashup in the form of an entertaining farewell ode to Mr and Mrs Edwards. This brought a delightfully joyous evening to a close. Thank you to Mr Dundas for his wonderful, sensitive accompanying, to our inspirational singing teachers for coaching the children so well and most of all to the children for their bravery, commitment, talent and brilliance.
