Yesterday was a beautiful sunny Sunday and we were super excited to be boarding our coach, heading for the spectacular Gullane Beach just 45 minutes away. We sang as we travelled and even impressed ourselves with the beautiful sound we made!
When we arrived at the beach, we made a base on the rocks before scattering in different directions. Some of us climbed a great mound of sand, tumbling down at frightening speeds, while others watched the chaos and started on their lunch.
The particularly brave members of our party went swimming in the freezing sea, diving over waves with Mr Hall and then attempting to warm up with a game of volleyball, even though our hands were rather numb after the somewhat chilly dip.
A group of us headed on an expedition to the rock pools to look for different types of sea creatures. Amongst other interesting finds, we saw a crab and a starfish.
Some of us tried our hands at drawings in the sand and we were delighted with our sea horse and sculpture of a man. We then dug a massive hole for Imogen and as a cool alternative to our mermaid sculptures, we decided to give her tentacles
The day passed very quickly and before we knew it, it was time to go. We cleared everything from the beach and wandered back to the coach, via the ice cream van of course!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Scott and Mr Hall for organising such a fantastic first outing and to Mrs Neary and Miss Michaelides for accompanying us.
