Our tour to Ireland started on Friday morning, with a long bus and ferry journey. We arrived in Belfast and went straight onto the field against a strong Campbell College side and a Methodist College side.

Some of the rugby laws are different in Ireland, but the team adapted very quickly to these. Our opposition were far more direct and effective with one pass rugby; however, for long periods during the games we matched and at times exceeded their strong, fast and skilful play.  We were pleased with the style of rugby that we played, which gained us yards, but we lacked the depth, which would have led to more points on the board.

Our tackling improved considerably and we look forward to taking what we have learned from this tour into the Loretto game this coming week.

In addition to our rugby experiences, we had a little time to visit the fantastic city of Belfast and we used some of this to a visit to the Titanic Museum and enjoy an evening of bowling.

We made many memories on tour that will last a lifetime. The boys conducted themselves with dignity, high standards and respect throughout the tour. Well done!
