On a blustery Monday, M Form headed to Edinburgh Castle, via the Grassmarket and the High Street, for a walking history lesson. This included some fascinating historical milestones and lots of fun and laughter along the way. Complete with swords and a crown, which we all took turns wearing, we went past the ‘Last Drop’ and to the Mercat Cross where Miss Mair told us about some of the announcements that were made and punishments meted out! Some of the history was gruesome and grizzly but we all enjoyed hearing about it!

‘There are no stars so lovely as Edinburgh street-lamps.’

Robert Louis Stevenson (1850-1894)
