Learning about Climate Change and COP26

It's the beginning of week two of COP26 so here we round up just some of the Prep School lessons and actions from the first week of the conference.

2nd Form gained an understanding of the science behind ocean warming, learning why warmer oceans store less CO2. During Geography lessons they discussed the dangers of increasing levels of CO2 and methane in the atmosphere and looked at what a warming world means for the future.

From big issues to smaller steps, our pupils have been thinking about positive initiatives they can embrace. Molly and Layla showed the way with their litter picking sessions, whilst some of the 1st Form talked about the thorny issue of palm oil in their breaktime biscuits; they are now busy researching palm oil free alternatives!

We looked back to some saplings planted in 2015 and found joy in the trees they have become and we are looking forward to Mrs Muddiman’s assembly tomorrow where she will task us with thinking about the changes that we can commit to making in the future.
