Children in Need
The Prep School’s bike-a-thon was a resounding success, with students, teachers, and staff all coming together for a day of fun and fundraising. The goal was to collectively ride over 350 miles on stationary and regular bikes, all in support of Children in Need. With the entire school community participating, the atmosphere was filled with energy and excitement. Each student and teacher took turns pedalling away, some on stationary bikes set up in the courtyard, while others rode around Bigside on traditional bikes and tandems for those who didn’t know how to ride. The event was not just about reaching a distance, but also about coming together for a worthy cause, and it didn’t take long for the miles to add up.
By the end of the day, the school had exceeded its target, hitting an impressive total of over 350 miles. The sense of accomplishment was tangible, with everyone proud of the excellent result achieved through teamwork and determination. Students cheered one another on, and teachers showed their support by riding alongside them or encouraging them from the sidelines. The total amount raised exceeded £1800, which was incredible, and all funds raised will go directly to helping Children in Need, making the day even more meaningful. It was a great day, full of camaraderie, physical challenge, and the knowledge that they were making a real difference for those in need.
