Carol Service in aid of the Armed Forces’ Benevolent Fund
Our Chamber Choir singers and members of the Fettes Choral Society gathered in the beautiful Canongate Kirk for a magical Carol Service in aid of the Armed Forces’ Benevolent Fund. The service began with the traditional ‘Once in Royal David’s City’ led by a hauntingly beautiful solo from Elizabeth M. The Chamber Choir singers sounded angelic; their harmonies weaving with Aidan C’s exquisite flute solo in a poignant arrangement of ‘The First Nowell’.
The two choirs joined forces for an arresting and bombastic performance of the 16th Century ‘Gaudete’ and the Choral Society singers sang ‘Infant Lowly’ with nuance and lovely expression.
A large congregation helped us to raise the roof in the congregational carols with some soaring decants lifting everyone’s spirits. Thank you everyone for your hard work and talent – it was a very special evening.
