1st Form Geography Field Trip - Glaciation

1st Form went on a Geography field trip to Callander in Stirlingshire to look at the effects of glaciation on the landscape.

It was a chilly but beautifully sunny day, perfect weather to look at the features of glaciation, and after a stop off at the Blair Drummond Smiddy Farm Shop for refreshments and some pocket money spending, we headed out on a walk, finding a spot to stop and sketch.  Our sketches included the classic 'U' shaped valley which was spread out before us, complete with misfit river and glacial erratics, including the very impressive Sampson's Stone.

We walked a little further, stopped for a delicious picnic lunch and enjoyed a break before resuming the walk and returning to our bus.
