1st Form enjoyed a very special Art Workshop, delivered by Jeanette Barnes. Jeanette studied at the Royal Academy Schools and the Royal College of Art. She has won numerous awards including the Hugh Casson Drawing Prize, Lynn Painter-Stainer Prize and most recently the Trinity Buoy Wharf Working Drawing prize 2019.
The topic of the workshop was 'Urban Challenge', and after looking at examples of Jeanette and other artists' work, our pupils took part in a series of imaginative exercises to create their own dynamic drawings and dramatic sculptures of cityscapes. Along the way they discovered how materials might best be used to translate their ideas and observations.
