Fantastic win for Fettes in the Scottish Islands Peaks Race

Huge congratulations to Team Fettes for winning the youth class of the Scottish Islands Peaks Race, finishing at Troon at 3:30 am on Monday 19th May.

The race involves 160 nautical miles of sailing from Oban and running up mountains on Mull, Jura, and Arran. Henry A and George M began with the Oban run on Friday. Calm weather required rowing out of Oban Bay before winds carried them to Mull, where Tom M and Clemmie P ran Ben Tallaidh.

After a long, slow sail to Jura, Team Fettes arrived first at Craighouse. Udit D and Seth J ran the Jura leg before the team sailed overnight to Arran, battling adverse tides at the Mull of Kintyre. They reached Arran on Sunday evening, where Tom A and George M completed the final run.

Arriving in Troon early Monday, Team Fettes secured first place in the youth class. Huge thanks to owner and skipper of the Luskentyre, Roger Pim, and congratulations to Lower Sixth runners Henry A, Udit D, Seth J, Tom M, George M and Clemmie P, who join an elite band of young people who can say that they trained for months, sailed for days, and won the Scottish Islands Peaks Race.
