Our Lower Sixth Form students participated in a career networking lunch with Old Fettesians who were back at Fettes for Commemoration Weekend.  We were very fortunate to have OFs with us from across the globe with a vast range of career experiences to share. 

This was an important informal opportunity for our students to practice networking in small groups and to have useful conversations on everything from university transition to extra curriculars through to employability, internships and work visas.

Our visiting OFs kindly provided their bios in advance so that students could review their experiences and learn how to ‘work the room’.  Guests represented the following broad career areas: composition & film, music, accountancy, fintech, sport and fitness, data analysis, geopolitical risk, oil & gas, architecture, law (barrister), law (corporate), communications and pr, management consultancy, IT, military, psychotherapy, medicine, nursing, agriculture & farm management, local government and public service. 

We are so grateful to the Old Fettesians who took time out of their special reunion weekend to speak to students and provide such valuable and genuine advice and inspiration.
