Fettes College was delighted to welcome its incoming Third Form students for a brilliant Transition Day designed to introduce them to the many opportunities that lie ahead in September. The day provided an opportunity for new students to immerse themselves fully in the life of the school, helping to build confidence, friendships, and excitement about the next stage of their educational journey.

The programme began with a sports coaching session led by the Games Department. Students had the chance to experience the high-quality coaching on offer, exploring both rugby and hockey. The session not only showcased the strength of sport at Fettes but also encouraged teamwork and camaraderie among the pupils, many of whom were meeting for the first time.

Following this, students were introduced to their Houseparent, marking the beginning of their connection to one of the school’s boarding houses. A guided tour gave them a sense of daily life within the house, helping them to become familiar with their new surroundings. The afternoon continued with a range of fun activities, allowing pupils to relax, build friendships, and grow in confidence.

The day concluded in memorable fashion with a lively Ceilidh on the Queen’s Lawn. New pupils joined current Third Formers for an evening of traditional dancing, laughter, and shared enjoyment. It was inspiring to witness so many positive interactions, with pupils quickly forming connections that will support them in the months ahead.

As the day drew to a close, students left tired but excited, with a clear sense of anticipation for the start of term. The Transition Day successfully set the tone for a happy and successful journey at Fettes College.
