Superb Burns Supper

On Saturday we celebrated the National Bard with our annual Burns Supper. Pipe Major Henry R piped in the haggis, which was addressed with gusto by Iona McN. A splendid musical interlude followed the food, with fiddle players Bethany W and Ryan W, accompanied by Mr Tully on piano. The Chairman, Mr McDowell, gave the Immortal Memory, ably assisted by Magnus K and Louis DM (playing Robert Burns and our Founder Sir William); this was followed by an excellent set from our pipers.  Mr Swift gave the toast to the lassies, to which Ms Marks replied, both speeches being warmly applauded for their witty observations on male and female Fettesians. Some of our Lower Sixth form students performed Tam O Shanter’ to great applause.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a great success.
