Summer Term Sports

Now more than ever sport plays an integral role for maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle and developing key life skills such as resilience, humility, teamwork, and communication. Thankfully as restrictions started to relax a little the Summer Term had a wealth of internal and external fixtures played.

All our 1st captains worked hard in pulling together their teams, leading from the front and showing dedication and excellent leadership. A special mention to all 1st team Captains:

Cricket - Oliver N

Girls Cricket - Catherine E

Tennis - Isabella S

Boys Tennis - Wyman C

Football - Daniel O

Basketball - Dinesh L

Tennis:

The U15 and U14 girls tennis teams had some incredible performances, with some young promising talent shinning though. A highlight of the term was watching the U15 teams taking on the senior girls. Amazing performances by all.

The senior boys showed some great determination to perform consistently well. There are several excellent players to look out for and we look forward to watching skills develop and performances in 2021/22.

Cricket:

The young cricket teams led the way with strong performances across the board.  There are some very talented individuals in 3rd and 4th Form who have achieved success at local clubs as well as within school fixtures.  One of the highlights of the cricket programme this year was the introduction of girls cricket fixtures across all year groups.  The senior team comprised of players from all year groups and were narrowly beaten by two runs in the first ever 1st XI Girls fixture at Fettes.

Football and Basketball:

The U6th Form footballers and basketball players were lucky enough to have the one last external fixture before term ended.

We would like to thank all U6th  students for their contribution to sport during their time at Fettes and hope they continue to be active in the future.
