This year’s Steeplechase saw 450 students challenging themselves on a course which takes in all the grounds on the campus. The glorious sun-shine was a mixed blessing for the runners but there were plenty of supporters to appreciate the efforts on view and to cheer on the athletes as they completed their runs.
The winning times were all faster than the previous year and there were some very impressive performances both individually and House. One family of siblings managed to win their respective events with Paddy P, Clemmie P and Fergus P all dominating their events.
Arniston managed a 1-2-3 in the Third Form and Fifth Form races, and their greater consistency meant that they were the overall champions with Dalmeny hot on their heels. In the Boys event, Glencorse once again proved just a little too good for the chasing pack, with Carrington coming in a close 2nd.
This was a fantastic way to start the House Competition, and we look forward to plenty of sporting action during the Term.
