Sports Day 2026 was once again a fantastic showcase of some of our best athletes, outstanding team and individual performances, great house camaraderie, and an opportunity for some of our leavers to compete one final time for their house in front of the school.

As is now tradition, the day starts with the mixed 8 x 100m relay, with brother and sister houses competing against each other. This year, it was 'GlArni' – Glencorse and Arniston – who took the first win of the day.

The 200m was first up following the invitational relay, and we were in for a real treat as U6th Marianna M set a new school record in the senior girls' event with an impressive time of 26.3 seconds. Marianna also went on to win the 100m and the award for Best Performance of the Day. The Class 1 200m was one of the races of the day, with Jude EM taking the win, just edging out Henry A on the line.

The relays are always the highlight of the day, with the 6 x 200m taking place just before lunch. Carrington were the winners of the Class 2 relay, thanks to a fantastic final leg from Angus F. Glencorse dominated, winning the Class 3 6 x 200m and 4 x 100m relays, as well as the Class 1 6 x 200m and the Class 2 4 x 100m. Moredun won an epic race to take the Class 1 4 x 100m title from Glencorse.

College West dominated the senior girls' relays, winning both events, while College East won the junior girls' 4 x 100m and Arniston claimed victory in the 6 x 200m.

The tug of war is always a brilliant and hotly contested event, and this year's winners were Moredun for the boys and College East for the girls.

Overall, the boys' competition was dominated by Glencorse, who won two of the three classes, with Carrington taking the Class 2 title.

The junior girls' overall winners were Arniston, while College West won the senior girls' competition and were crowned the overall girls' champions.
