14 Lower Sixth students battled incredibly strong winds early on Sunday morning, combined with icy rain, for a 7km SIPR (Scottish Islands Peaks Race) training run around the Pentland Hills. The group then ran down to the Water of Leith path and followed it all the way back to Fettes. This was a half-marathon distance (13 miles/21 kilometres), but much tougher than the average half-marathon road race due to the tricky conditions and initial elevation. The students did incredibly well, and for five of them this was further than they had every run before. Well done!
