Chamber Music Rehearsals

Our Music Department has begun another session of Chamber Music rehearsals following our welcome return to School after the Easter Break. The String Ensemble has been working in socially distanced year-group bubbles in the Music School under the guidance of Mr Watson and Mr Long; and, on Thursday last the Senior Brass Ensemble, which is similarly busy with rehearsal and performances, was able to rehearse together for the first time since Christmas. The current regulations in Scotland mean that Wind and Brass players and Singers can’t play together indoors, so their rehearsal venue for this term is our Head’s Lawn. When the weather is like this, what better venue is there? With players from the 3rd Form through to the Lower 6th Form (and Mr Davies from the Physics Department playing his mighty Double-C Tuba!), the group is coached by our French Horn Instructor, Mr. Goodenough Jr.

It was delightful to see and hear music being played on campus once again and we look forward to seeing the students showcasing their impressive musical talents again soon.
