Rugby: 2ndXV v Dollar

Fettes 29 v Dollar 5

The 2nd XV finished the season with a record of six wins from seven games and went out on a high with a superb performance against a strong and determined Dollar team. In the absence of regular captain Seb A, it was up to the senior players such as George G and Duncan W to step up to the mark and lead the team. We got off to a brilliant start with a terrific team try in the first 10 minutes as we held onto the ball for phase after phase, eventually wearing the opposition down, before James M scored a try. This was soon followed by a lovely finish from Callum S in the corner and whilst Dollar fought back with a try of their own we always looked in control. Duncan W crossed over for another try after some powerful build up play from the pack before the mercurial Archie G ghosted through the smallest of gaps to go in under the posts. The second half was more attritional but we still managed to score one more try by Ryo O. Four of the five tries scored were by boys playing their last game of rugby for the College and a fitting way to bow out.
