Rowathon Challenge Raises Over £6,500 for Annual SuperTroop Holiday

Inspired by SuperTroop’s Highland theme, Houses adopted Clan identities for an epic Rowing the Lochs 10 hour challenge. Every 15 minutes a new crew of 8 took to the rowing machines creating a high-energy relay that showcased our students at their very best.

“Watching everyone come together for 10 hours of continuous rowing showed it’s not just the volunteers who care so deeply about this great cause, but the whole school body. Together, we will provide the holiday-makers with an amazing week, which wouldn’t be possible without all the extremely generous donations.” - Rosie S

The event followed a moving address in Chapel from SuperTroop founder, Sue Fletcher-Watson, who described the life-changing impact that the annual holiday has on children with learning disabilities and their families.

“SuperTroop gives an incredibly rare chance for our holiday-makers to test their limits, to learn they can overcome tricky moments and that trying something new is worth the risk.

SuperTroop shows every kid who comes on the week that there are people in the world who want to hang out with them, who cherish them exactly as they are, in all their extraordinary, complicated brilliance.

The relationship between Fettes and SuperTroop stretches back to 2017 and has become one of the College’s most valued partnerships. With just four weeks to go until this year’s holidaymakers arrive at Fettes, the JustGiving page remains open and every donation will help ensure another unforgettable SuperTroop holiday.
