Psychology Conference

All IB & A Level Lower Sixth Psychology students attended The Student Science and Psychology Conference held in Edinburgh, a intensive full-day course filled with a mixture of superb talks and thought-provoking demonstrations relevant to the topics our students are studying this term.

Speakers included; Professor Richard Wiseman lecturing on mind games, how our minds play tricks on us and the psychology employed by the worlds greatest illusionists; Professor Caroline Watt discussing how parapsychologists do ESP tests as well as a live audience ESP test; Andrew Norton demonstrating hypnosis and Phil Banyard, Mike Cardwell and Cara Flanagan giving their explanations on pseudoscience, good science and bad science.

An informative day for all attendees which certainly raised questions and created debate.
