Old Fettesian Caroline Livesey Sets New North Coast 500 Record 

Caroline Livesey (née Graham-Brown) (Ar 1992–1997) has set a new female record for cycling Scotland’s North Coast 500 route non-stop, completing the challenge in an astonishing 32 hours and 21 minutes.

Setting off at 4:00am on Tuesday 2 June 2026, Caroline embarked on the 830 km (516 mile) route around Scotland, supported by a dedicated team and aiming to beat the previous female record of 36 hours and 39 minutes.

Over the next 32 hours, Caroline rode continuously without sleep, navigating some of Scotland’s most demanding roads and climbing more than 8,000 metres in elevation. Maintaining an exceptional pace throughout, she not only surpassed the previous benchmark but established a new record for the iconic route.

This remarkable achievement was about more than athletic endurance. Caroline undertook the challenge to raise funds and awareness for educational projects in Nepal, helping children gain access to opportunities they might otherwise never have. As co-founder of Peak Education Nepal, she is committed to creating lasting change through education, and this record-breaking ride has provided a powerful platform to support that mission.
