Last weekend, the National Schools Fives Championships beckoned with approximately 130 of the very best Fives players from around 20 schools and clubs around the UK congregating at St Paul’s School in Barnes for a weekend of extraordinarily high quality Fives.  

Highlights in the Under 18 competition include a heroic comeback in the quarter final by Ben L and Geordie M from 2-11 down against a spirited Tonbridge pair to a 16-14 victory and a similarly emphatic, albeit ultimately less successful, comeback by Monty D and Chris T in the Plate Final also coming from 2-11 down to lose by a whisker at 15-13 making them 2025 Plate Runners up.  

Success in the Under 16 Plate doubles tournament led to an all-Fettes semi-final involving Lochie F, Louis M, Freddie A and Beau W.  Lochie and Louis edged that battle before embarking on a determined but hard-fought win against another Scottish paring from EA in the Final to take the 2025 Plate.  All in all, a tiring but enjoyable and ultimately very successful trip.  Our thanks go to the boys and the parents who joined us to support.
