To celebrate National Limerick Day last weekend, Mrs Attwell and Mr Marshall challenged us all to a limerick competition. Fettesians and staff competed throughout Fettes College and Fettes Prep to win the prize!

 

Our new young Librarian, Attwell,

Has certainly come out of her shell,

She’s happy to plead,

To get us to read, 

and even has “banned books” – how swell.

 

To celebrate Limerick Day,

We’re giving our treasures away,

Can you spare us some time,

To submit a rhyme,

By no later than Monday mid-day.

 

It’s for Prep and for Senior and Staff,

So go on, don’t we all need a laugh,

As school Archivist,

even I’ve got the gist,

though my verses make excellent draff.
