Perfect weather greeted the students and staff yesterday as large numbers once again participated in the annual Mile Relay competition, a relay around the College in mixed aged teams of 4. Arniston were the first team home in the Girls’ race in a time of 28:26 with Siena H-M running the anchor leg. The Boys’ race was won by Carrington in an impressive time of 24:09 with Jamie P bringing the team home. The first staff team was the Westwoods quartet in just over 26 minutes.
Arniston won the overall Girls competition with an impressive combined score of just 34 points whilst Moredun won the Boys competition in equally impressive style with a score of 38 points.
Carrington managed to get out 11 teams which is mightily impressive and Dalmeny had the most competitors for the girls with 8 teams. Every runner was cheered home by a huge crowd on the balustrade and the atmosphere as always was fantastic.
