The mental wellbeing of our young people is at the heart of our Pastoral Care at Fettes College. As part of this, every year we invite students in the Lower Sixth to apply to become Mental Health Ambassadors.
We are delighted that 12 more of our students have been successful in taking on this role and are today undergoing their training delivered by The Black Box Approach. The role will include working closely with the Psychciety (Psychology and Mental Health Society) as well as our Head of Wellbeing to promote awareness and understanding of mental health issues and provide opportunities for peer to peer education to younger students on a variety of topics. Our students will also have the ability to chat to an Ambassador in a calm, quiet space if they want someone to talk to. Together they will help with our quest to support the young people at our school.
