Humanities Trip to Prague

The Humanities Department’s annual Sixth Form Trip to Europe this year took them to Prague. Visits included the castle, Jewish quarter and National Museum as well as an out of town trip to the fortress and concentration camp at Terezin.

They visited an inspiring and thought-provoking range of sights that showed the range of human highs and lows - from the stunning art and architecture of the Czech national revival to the oppression of Communism and Nazi occupation. Seeing the grim cells of the camp will stay with the students for a long time, but so will the beautiful spaces of St James's basilica, the National Museum, the Old Town, and the great views of Prague from the castle.

During the Trip, the Molly Malone Travel Quiz was won by the Lower Sixth Form team of Glencorse and Kimmerghame, and Sasha P won the photography competition.
