GCSE Results 2025

Following on from our outstanding A Level and IB results earlier this summer, we are delighted to be celebrating a fantastic set of GCSE results, containing so much success, once again.

With 10% of our students achieving straight 9s (equivalent to A*) in their top 8 GCSEs, our average GCSE Grade was a 7 (equivalent to A) with well over half of the grades at Grades 9-7 (A*-A).

In addition to their GCSEs, 30 students tackled a Higher Project Qualification (HPQ) with 100% of these students achieving A*-A. 10 students also achieved an Extended Maths Qualification with 5 achieving a Distinction and 2 achieving the top mark of a Distinction*.

Our students have so much to be proud of academically but as they end their Middle School experience, we also recognise their wider contributions to school life through our rich co-curricular and super-curricular opportunities. We are proud of the holistic education experienced at Fettes and, in turn, of each and every one of our students.

Anushka Chakravarty, Deputy Head (Academic) said, “Congratulations to our students on their brilliant results! These achievements are testament to their hard work and perseverance but also to the encouragement of their families and the dedication of our teaching staff who have provided one-to-one mentoring, intervention sessions and stretch-and-challenge opportunities to support each individual. We are excited to welcome these students, and our new joiners, into the Sixth Form next week where we look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength on either our A Level or IB Sixth Form pathway.”

Helen Harrison, Head of Fettes College said “We are very proud to celebrate the success of this year’s GCSE cohort. The results reflect a great deal of hard work, resilience and talent from our wonderful students. We must also thank our staff team throughout the school who show a great deal of dedication to take care of everyone during one of the most formative times of their academic lives. Exciting times lie ahead as this group head into their Sixth Form adventure and we look forward to continuing to guide and support each student to the very best of their potential during this time.”
