It has been a fantastic few weeks for Fettes Hockey, with both the U15 and U18 boys crowned Scottish Champions. For the 1st XI, this marks a remarkable fourth consecutive title—an achievement no other school has matched. The U15s have also enjoyed sustained success, now claiming the national title in five of the last six years.

U18 Cup Final: Fettes College vs Stewart’s Melville College

For the fifth consecutive year, Fettes travelled to the Glasgow Green National Hockey Centre to compete in the U18 Scottish Hockey Cup Final. Determined to retain their title, the team knew they faced a formidable Stewart’s Melville side and a significant challenge.

Stewart’s Melville started strongly in the opening 10 minutes, and Fettes’ defence worked tirelessly to keep the ball out of the D. Under sustained pressure, the team remained composed, with Oliver P controlling the game from the back, while Angus F and Archie S imposed themselves in midfield.

As the game settled, Stewart’s Melville’s intensity began to drop, and Fettes capitalised. Tommy B opened the scoring, shifting the momentum firmly in Fettes’ favour. From that point on, Fettes took control of the first half, playing with confidence and fluency.

The lead was extended to 3–0 before half-time. Felix U added a well-taken deflection following an excellent delivery from captain Angus M, before Cody A finished off a strong passage of play to score the third. Despite the advantage, the team remained focused, fully aware that the contest was far from over. Stewart’s Melville came out strongly in the second half and pulled a goal back early, forcing Fettes to battle hard to maintain their lead. Fettes responded well, with Oliver P finishing an excellent counterattack after Angus F beat several players before providing the assist.

With 15 minutes remaining, Fettes led 4–2 and managed the game effectively in the closing stages. Archie F made several crucial saves, while captain Angus M ensured control and composure in the final minutes. The match finished 4–2, securing a fourth consecutive Scottish Cup title for Fettes.

 U15 Cup Final: Fettes College vs Stewart’s Melville College

The U15 boys secured an impressive victory in Glasgow following a competitive and high-quality encounter. They started the match strongly, controlling possession and creating several early chances. Their pressure paid off when Harry T opened the scoring after a well-worked move involving Kian M and Hugo M. Fettes went into half-time with a deserved 1–0 lead.

The second half began at a high intensity, with end-to-end hockey from both sides. Fettes doubled their advantage through Ellis W, who finished well with a deflection.

Stewart’s Melville then began to grow into the game, applying sustained pressure that required a disciplined defensive response. Jamie W commanded the goal effectively, while John L led the defence with composure. After withstanding a prolonged period of pressure, Fettes held onto a narrow 2–1 lead heading into the final 10 minutes.As the game opened up, Fettes capitalised, adding two further goals—Harry T grabbing his second of the match, followed by a goal from Kaze C.

The match finished 4–1, reflecting a superb team performance, with every player contributing across the full 50 minutes. It was a fantastic result and a fitting reward for the team’s hard work and commitment.
