The heavy rain from the night before cleared to bring a calm and fresh morning for this year's Charity Runs. An eager group of 45 Half Marathon runners gathered early at the War Memorial, some with ambitions of a quick time. They ran far and well, with a few puddles to leap and some precarious steps to navigate. For the second year in a row Seamus Y was the first runner home in a time of 1hr 31 mins 07s, followed closely by Sam A. Annabelle P was close behind in 3rd and first female home in 1hr 33mins 56s. Miss McDonnell led the staff charge in 1hr 51mins 07s.
Paddy P won the 10K in a fantastic 37mins 01s, a minute ahead of Adam W. Dashka M was the first female home, 3rd overall, in a time of 40mins 07s.
Mr Davies and his crew set up the fleet of rowing ergos on the War Memorial. Dorian d C-T rowed the half marathon in 1hr 26mins 01s, followed by Edo F in 1hr 31mins. Iona M was the fastest female rower, completing the half marathon in 1hr 41mins 19s. Over 10K the fastest rower was Max d P in 40mins 22s, three minutes ahead of Alex S. Rosie B was 1st female over 10K in a time of 51mins 32s. In addition, Mr Pillinger had two bike ergos on the go aiming to cover 100K between them.
A wonderful team effort by all involved and a fantastic demonstration of the Fettes community spirit.
