Excellent outcomes in the International Baccalaureate Diploma in 2025

Yesterday brought excellent news for those students in our Upper Sixth Form who sat the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Examinations over the summer term.

All 38 of our IB students successfully passed their Diploma, with the majority achieving more than 38 points and nearly a third of our IB students achieving 40 points or more. This is an average point score of 38 compared to the global average of 30 points. We are incredibly proud of them all.

Students in the Fettes College IB Class of 2025 will be going on to study at some of the most prestigious universities, including Durham, Warwick, St Andrews, LSE and UCL in the UK, as well as Duke, Princeton, and IE Madrid abroad.

We are particularly delighted for two of our students who achieved the coveted maximum score of 45 points and, in doing so, secured their places at Oxford. Two other IB students have also guaranteed their places at Oxford and Cambridge with their fantastic results.

Anushka Chakravarty, Deputy Head (Academic) said “It is wonderful to see Fettes students excelling in the IB Diploma - a qualification that offers both breadth and depth while nurturing a global outlook and essential critical thinking skills. We are delighted for our IB Class of 2025 who have worked so hard to achieve these brilliant outcomes.”

Head of Fettes College, Helen Harrison, said "Our IB results are evidence of the hard work and talents of our students and the most superb support from our expert, committed staff who maximise the opportunities for students to learn and add value to their academic potential. Our IB students are ready for the next exciting stage in their lives. We are proud of them all and wish them well as they head out to make their mark on the world."

Fettes College offers a dual pathway of International Baccalaureate and A Level in the Sixth Form. A Level results will be released in August.
