We are so proud of all the leaving cohort of 2024, with our A Level candidates receiving their results on Thursday 15th August and accepting offers at superb institutions throughout the UK and around the world.
Our A Level students are set to take up a diverse and interesting range of courses, including Engineering at Cambridge, Architecture at Edinburgh, International Relations at St. Andrews, English at Bristol, Marketing at Newcastle, Medicine at Glasgow, History and Economics at Oxford and many others. Students are heading off to study in the United States at Harvard, Cornell and Duke, HKUST and European universities in the Netherlands and Spain. We wish them every success in this next exciting stage of their studies, knowing that they are ready to make a positive mark on the world.
This year at A Level an impressive 69% of the cohort gained grades from A*-B with 17% of all grades being an A*.
At Fettes, students have the opportunity to study either the International Baccalaureate or A Level pathways and we are therefore delighted to announce the combined results of our 2024 A Level & IB examinations:
A*/7 22%
A*-A/ 7-6 55%
A*-B/ 7-5 79%
Victoria Chandler, Head of Sixth Form, said: “Our leavers have shown determination, talent and a strong work ethic to achieve at this level and we are so pleased to see the variety of destinations and courses that they are heading off to. This has been a delightful cohort, who have given of their best and been a leading part of their school community. We are immensely proud of them all.”
Helen Harrison, Head of Fettes College said: “Our dual pathway at Sixth Form of A level and International Baccalaureate means that we are able to ensure our academic programme fits the strengths of each of our students and we are proud and pleased with these results. In our boarding community with our dedicated professional staff, it is a privilege to get to know our students, nurture their ambitions and help and support them on to the next exciting stage of their lives. I wish all our Leavers the very best for all that is to come.”
