End of Year Art Exhibition
On Tuesday we opened our End of Year Art Exhibition, which celebrates the hard work and creativity of our art students. The exhibition features work from all our Fifth Form GCSE Artists and our Upper Sixth A Level and IB Visual Art candidates alongside works from every member of our Third Form.
Our studios have become an exciting exhibition space displaying all kinds of artworks. Bold, colourful and playful installations sit alongside subtle interventions waiting to be discovered. Our Sixth Form students have embraced opportunities in both their ideas and their making - challenging and stretching themselves in terms of scale and conceptually in the scope and depth of their research. There is evidence of an energetic approach in the GCSE rooms, ranging from bold print installations to exciting sculptural reliefs.
Head of Art, Ms Sutherland says “Huge congratulations to all our students for their hard work and achievements this year. We wish our leavers well and hope that wherever they go and whatever they do, they will take their creative skills and ways of thinking with them. We cannot wait to see how the ideas and interests of our GCSE students take new shapes in the next stage of their artistic careers as they progress into Art in the Sixth Form.”
