After two hard-fought semi-finals against the able teams of Kimmerghame and Arniston, Glencorse (Mitchell T and Seamus Y) met College East (Mehar K and Iona C) in the Debating Society house competition final, held in the Macleod Centre on Tuesday evening. 

The Glencorse team proposed the motion ‘This house would boycott sporting events hosted by oppressive regimes’. Their barrage of points met with a strong response from the College East team, and there was also a lively floor debate. 

In the end the judges decided that Glencorse had the edge, awarding them the House Debating Bucket. 

Congratulations to all competitors – this has been a fantastic term of debating and we are looking forward to further external competitions.
