During the summer holidays, 10 of our cadets travelled to Barry Buddon, Dundee, for this years CCF Central Camp. The group consisted of returning JNCO’s and members of the Fourth Form Company. The Fettes platoon had a brilliant rotation programme throughout the week and  finally at the end of the week an overnight exercise, “Striking Lion”. During the week the students stayed within military dorm rooms and each took it in turn to be “Duty Cadets”.

Throughout the week students completed obstacle courses, live firing, paintball training, first aid and a deeper insight into military skills and tactics. The week concluded with a tactical exercise where the students lived in a Harbour location, fired lots of blank ammunition as part of their section attack rehearsals and then carried out a student led ambush. CCF Camp was an amazing way to consolidate all of the training from this year and we will be looking to grow the Camp Platoon for Summer 2020.
