The Fifth Form Cadets (85) completed their first Field Exercise on Thursday 26th September. As part of the Cadet syllabus, the students learn how to ‘Cook in the field’, ‘Prepare a shelter’ and Patrol as group (Platoon). The Cadet ‘Head of Army’, WO1 Ella T, planned and implemented a six hour exercise that provided all of the training objectives for the younger Cadets. The Head of Army was well supported by the Senior Cadets within her year but also aspiring Senior Leaders from the Lower Sixth. The Fettes CCF are very proud that we offer genuine Leadership opportunities.
The Field Day followed on from the exercise and a series of Cadet training stands were completed within the Fettes Grounds. Paintball, Camouflage and Concealment, First Aid and various leadership tasks encouraged the Fifth Form to focus on their own leadership style – on the theme of ‘Stop, Pause, Think, Act’.
